Emergency Food Supply List

The following are items and food staples that we recommend including in a short-term ("72-hour") emergency food supplies kit. Many of these items you may already have on hand or can easily purchase at any convenience store.
  • Ready-to-eat canned meats, fruits, vegetables and a can opener
  • Protein or fruit bars
  • Dry cereal or granola
  • Peanut butter
  • Dried fruit
  • Nuts
  • Crackers
  • Canned juices
  • Non-perishable pasteurized milk
  • High energy foods
  • Vitamins
  • Food for infants
  • Comfort/stress foods
Again, the above items are recommended for a short-term emergency supplies kit that will help you weather a short-term emergency or disaster. We highly recommend that you also put together a more extensive, longer-term food storage.
